ABB: Laser marking machine
For well over 20 years, ABB has been a customer of Cody, and we constantly receive exciting challenges from them. This time it was about renewing and modernizing an important laser marking tool that is used in the production of some of ABB's medium voltage products.
The laser used today is also made by Cody, but is ripe for replacement after 20 years in active service.
The new laser marking machine is five times faster than the current solution and has an integrated motor for tensioning a spring in the product.
- The machine reduces the marking time and means that the operator does not have to tension the spring manually, says product developer Christian Skoe, who has been involved in the project from the start.
Magnus is our sales manager, and with his experience in both mechanical design, automation, and project management, he has full control over what Cody can deliver. He delves deep into the Machinery Directive, CE marking, and harmonized standards to ensure that what we deliver complies with laws and regulations. Magnus is extremely interested in horn speakers and doesn't shy away from renovating the house to improve acoustics.
