25 Years of Cody: Solving Complex Problems, Together

This year marks a significant milestone in Cody’s journey — 25 years of solving critical challenges in production technology. What started as a small, ambitious company in 2000 has evolved into a trusted innovation partner, delivering world-class automation and production solutions.

Early machine built for ABB in 2000

One of Cody’s earliest projects, in collaboration with AnaTec (now Microtrac), involved developing machinery to analyze microparticles — including lunar dust. Around the same time, ABB came to Cody for custom assembly machinery. Two very different clients, two very different problems — a perfect illustration of the breadth and flexibility that would come to define Cody’s engineering approach. In those early years, Cody also worked with Agilera and contributed to projects for GE Healthcare, including a laser marking machine – both relationships that continue. Cody also worked with Norwegian based company, Made for Movement — on a device that enabled children with disabilities to paint and create. Again, very di"erent projects with very different solutions. But this flexibility has always been a key characteristic of Cody. Regardless of the end use , if there is a problem to solve, Cody is determined to find the best solution.

“We’ve always been curious,” says Senior Engineer Bjørn Haugseter, who co-founded Cody with fellow engineer Tom Henriksen. “From the very beginning, we were driven by the idea that if a challenge was complex, it was worth solving. That mindset still defines us.”

“That mindset is part of why I joined Cody,” says Chief Business Development Officer, Magnus Skoglund Larsen, who has been with Cody since 2009. “We hire great people, yes, but it’s more than that. Cody is a space where
we can collaborate, challenge each other, and do our best work.”

The story of Cody isn’t just one of technology — it’s about people. Over the years, Cody has grown not only in size but in capability, continuously expanding its team of engineers and specialists. And while leadership has evolved, the spirit of collaboration remains constant.

“Cody is a sum of its parts,” says Ken Andre Myhra Kihle, Cody CEO since 2019. “Every individual at Cody brings something unique to a project and each person has a specific skill or perspective that stands out on its own — but when you bring all of those individuals together as a team, that’s when it all comes together to create a great solution for our customers.”

Magnus Skoglund Larsen, Chief Business Development Officer

"We've been presented with projects that seemed impossible in the start, that have ended up being a great success both for us and for the customer" adds Magnus "and that is due to the collaborative environment we work in"

Collaborative spirit has been essential to Cody’s success. From pioneering early automation projects to building custom production systems, Cody has earned its reputation through hands-on dedication to practical problem-solving.

This team-driven approach is evident in Cody’s work within the pharmaceutical sector — a field that operates under some of the highest technical standards. This work has pushed Cody to continuously refine its expertise and deliver solutions that meet complex, often critical, requirements.

Pharmaceuticals have long been a core focus, with Cody’s expertise growing steadily over the years. A key milestone came in 2012 with the first project for Bayer — a partnership that helped pave the way for increasingly advanced pharmaceutical and production work. More recently, Cody has expanded into the radiopharmaceutical
space, joining the Oslo Cancer Cluster in 2023 and collaborating with Pantera on cutting-edge production solutions designed to support life-saving cancer treatments.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary, the Cody team came together for a well-deserved trip to France — a rare moment to step back, reflect, and toast to the journey so far.  Over incredible food, good company, and a few well-earned glasses of wine, the group reflected on how far they’ve come — and where they’re heading next.

From intricate sensor modules to complex, multi-functional production machines, Cody’s projects span industries and scale. Their clients range from global pharmaceutical companies to pioneering startups. But they all have one thing in common: they’re working to solve real-world problems. Whether it’s enabling the precise delivery of radiopharmaceuticals, developing intelligent automation for industry, or helping bring more sustainable products to market, Cody’s role is the same — to turn complex challenges into scalable, intelligent solutions.

So what’s next?

More problems. More puzzles. And more great minds coming together to solve them.
