Cody is accepted as a member of Oslo Cancer Cluster
Oslo Cancer Cluster (OCC) is a non-profit research and business cluster focused on cancer. The cluster aims to accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and diagnostics – for the benefit of cancer patients.
OCC is a national non-profit membership organization with over 90 members. The members include hospitals, research centers, patient organizations, start-ups, biotech companies, global pharmaceutical and technology companies, investors, financial institutions, and service providers – all working within the field of cancer. Together, they cover the entire oncology value chain, from research to delivering new therapeutic agents and diagnostics to patients worldwide. Cody is now also a member.
Introduced through the pharmaceutical industry
At Cody, we have worked with clients in the pharmaceutical and radiopharmacy industries for years, and through them, we were introduced to OCC and their excellent work and initiatives. In the fall of 2023, we were also invited to Bayer’s 10th anniversary of their Norwegian-developed cancer drug Xofigo, which was held at OCC in Oslo. It is a medical journey we are proud to have been part of from the beginning by developing hot cell production equipment and packaging and inspection machinery for the drug.
Applied for Membership
Supplier companies can apply for membership in OCC. - We made a pitch about our work with cancer medicine and received positive feedback and approval for membership in December 2023, says Cody’s Sales Manager Magnus Skoglund Larsen.
One of the main priorities for the cluster’s members is to ensure that patients have quick access to new medicines and diagnostic tools under testing. OCC organizes seminars and meetings to enhance collaboration, build networks, and share information, expertise, and experience.
- We are proud to join OCC. Being part of a network with so many skilled members gives us a larger platform to showcase our expertise and help these companies develop their processes and production methods. We have already done this in collaboration with Bayer and Xofigo, which is the first approved alpha-emitting drug on the market. We can contribute our practical experience to developing processes and production equipment for radiopharmaceuticals and other pharmaceutical products, says Skoglund Larsen.
Inspiring to Be Part of
- At Cody, we are fortunate to work on many exciting projects across various industries and services every day. However, being part of OCC, a place where the medicines of the future are developed, ranks high on the scale of why it is motivating to go to work every day. We look forward to many inspiring and useful gatherings and workshops in the future and hope and believe we have much to contribute, concludes Skoglund Larsen.
Magnus is our sales manager, and with his experience in both mechanical design, automation, and project management, he has full control over what Cody can deliver. He delves deep into the Machinery Directive, CE marking, and harmonized standards to ensure that what we deliver complies with laws and regulations. Magnus is extremely interested in horn speakers and doesn't shy away from renovating the house to improve acoustics.
