Cody joined as a member of Oslo Cancer Cluster

Oslo Cancer Cluster (OCC) is a non-profit research and business cluster within cancer. The cluster aims to accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and diagnostics - for the benefit of cancer patients.

OCC is a national non-profit membership organization with more than 90 members. The members consist of hospitals, research centers, patient organizations, startups, biotechnology companies, global pharmaceutical and technology companies, investors, financial institutions, as well as service providers - all working in the field of cancer. Together, they cover the entire oncology value chain, from research to the delivery of new therapeutic agents and diagnostics to patients worldwide. Now, Cody has also become a member.

Introduced through the pharmaceutical industry

At Cody, we have worked with clients in the pharmaceutical and radiopharmaceutical industries for many years, and thus, through them, have been introduced to OCC and their excellent work and initiatives. In the fall of 2023, we were also invited to Bayer's 10-year anniversary for their Norwegian-developed cancer medicine Xofigo, which was held at OCC in Oslo. It's a medical journey we are proud to have been a part of from the beginning by creating hot cell production equipment and packaging and inspection machinery for the medicine.

Applied for membership

It is open for supplier companies to apply for membership in OCC. - We presented a pitch about our work with cancer medicine and received positive feedback and approved membership in December 2023, says Cody's sales manager Magnus Skoglund Larsen.

One of the main priorities of the cluster's members is to ensure patients quick access to new medicines and diagnostic tools under trial. OCC organizes seminars and meetings to improve collaboration, build networks, and share information, expertise, and experience.

-We are proud to become members of OCC. Being part of a network with so many skilled members gives us a larger platform to showcase what we can contribute with our expertise to help these companies develop their processes and production methods. We have already done this in collaboration with Bayer and Xofigo, which is the first approved alpha-emitting medicine on the market. We can contribute with our practical experience to develop processes and production equipment for the production of radiopharmaceuticals and other pharmaceutical products, says Skoglund Larsen.

Inspiring to be a part of

-We at Cody are fortunate to work on a lot of exciting projects across various industries and services every single day. Nevertheless, being a part of OCC, a place where the medicines of the future are being developed, is high up on the scale of why it's motivating to go to work every day. We look forward to many inspiring and useful gatherings and workshops in the time to come, and hope and believe we have a lot to contribute, concludes Skoglund Larsen.
