Dream job with great variaton

Norwegian industry is growing rapidly, and we notice increased demand for our services - "Innovation for production". This autumn we had the pleasure of welcoming two new employees to Cody! Christian Kirkemyr has been given the title of Product Developer and Einar Ottestad Automation Engineer. Both describe Cody as a dream employer.

Christian has a diploma in sheet metal work and furthered his education to eventually become an engineer.

- After my engineering education, I worked as a welding inspector, before I went to Nasta and was given responsibility for designing special excavators. I have worked a lot with steel, says Christian.

Einar has an electronics background.

- I have an electronics degree and have worked a lot with ship electronics and automation. For many years I was a freelancer and worked a lot towards cultural life, as a technician, serviceman and inventor. Among other things, I made all the control systems for the Ibsen Escape Room at the Ibsen Museum - it was an incredibly fun project, says Einar enthusiastically.

Varied and exiting

When asked why they joined Cody, both point out that it is varied and exciting.

- I fell for the job advertisement, it sounded like a really cool job. Then I went to the website and realized that "I just have to have this job", says Christian enthusiastically. - I get bored easily, so variety is alpha and omega for me. Cody works on many different projects, for different industries and develops advanced solutions from scratch. There are no "off the shelf" items here.

Einar was not looking for a job, but was advised to apply by acquaintances. - I also fell for the varied and exciting projects. Creating something that doesn't exist before, finding good solutions to problems. It drives me!, says Einar.

Helpful "tech-nerds"

If you ask Cody's customers to describe the brand's personality, you will hear words like "Peter Smart": a knowledgeable, creative and curious "tech-nerd" who loves demanding challenges. Einar and Christian can confirm that the conversation around the lunch table bears the stamp of this corporate culture.

- It's a really nice environment here, says Christian. - People are clever and committed. We don't talk about sports at lunch, but things like solar panels and technology. Quite nerdy - but that's what we're interested in, he laughs.

- And then they are incredibly helpful, adds Einar. - As a new employee, it is easy to ask for help, no question is stupid. And disagreement is met with curiosity: "Why do you think that"? The best solutions are obtained when several minds think together.

The production of the future

Both have been involved in the EU project DIY4U, where we are developing a solution for the production of tailor-made detergent, which will be placed in grocery stores and operated by the consumer.

- In this project we will be using a lot of new technology, for example the machine will be 3D-printed in plastic. It offers many opportunities, but also challenges, says Christian, who also likes the project's high degree of innovation. - Instead of choosing between 3 types of detergent, consumers should be able to design their very own formulation, on the shop shelf. It's pretty disruptive and cool!
